Antho Truly Organic, Vegan & Eco-Friendly Beauty Products

Spread the love

We often come across vegan and cruelty-free beauty products that are done so as an afterthought, or even inadvertently; “vegan by accident”, as many know it. That is why we love finding companies who wear their “vegan and cruelty-free” badge proudly on their sleeves, like Antho organic, vegan and eco-friendly beauty products. Antho has an entire page of their website dedicated to education about vegan and cruelty-free beauty products, and what it means to truly be both.

Among their education is a list of what they promise is *not* in their cosmetics, including details about how the ingredients are commonly listed by other cosmetic companies, and what they really are:

  • carmine (crushed bugs in red and deep pink lipsticks, eye shadows and other color cosmetics)
  • hyaluronic acid (from beef in anti-aging serums)
  • silk products (from bugs in creams and hair conditioners)
  • tallow (animal fat in soaps)
  • lanolin (from sheep wool)
  • musk (from deer glands in perfumery)
  • ambergris (from whales in perfumery)
  • egg lecithin, whites, powder
  • milk products (usually come from factory farmed animals treated with hormones and kept continuously pregnant to produce milk)
  • bee products (honey, pollen, beeswax, etc.)
  • placenta
  • collagen (from beef and pork)
  • pearl powder
  • emu oil

Antho focuses on skin care, both face and body, and has an extensive line of cleansers, toners and moisturizers, for all types of skin. Their most widely reviewed and rated products are:

This body butter is 100% USDA certified organic and is made from raw shea butter, sunflower, jojoba and coconut oil, and includes rosemary extract. Says one reviewer, “This stuff is so pricey I swore it was a one-time thing, but… I love it. My husband loves it. Our baby loves it (I assume. What baby WANTS sandpapery skin?). I really have tried a LOT of different creams, and this is the best. You win, tiny expensive jar of miracle moisturizer!!”

Lullaby for Dry Skin Organic Face Serum, $17.95

This moisturizing face serum is packed full of ingredients that dry skin craves, including Moroccan argan oil, grapeseed oil, rosehip and jojoba oil, which is all loaded with powerful antioxidants and natural essential vitamins to support youthful and healthy appearance. One user gushes, “I’ve been using many of these products for the last 8 months or so. I continue to order the Lullaby for dry skin organic face serum and the organic eye serum. I apply each evening after cleansing. My complexion looks and feels younger. The tiny lines around my eyes have almost disappeared and my skin has a lovely glow. This mask is not only a hit among users, but it was also featured in Shape magazine and on HuffPost.com. This decadent mask contains organic cacao, kaolin clay, Moroccan rhassoul clay, sugar, oats, orange peel and allspice. One user said, “This mask helped my skin like no other mask that I tried before.
