The Many Amazing Uses of Cruelty-Free, Vegan & Organic Witch Hazel

Spread the love

It’s so easy to be dazzled by the wide array of cruelty-free and vegan beauty products on the market, that we often forget that there are simple options that do so much, while being simple and inexpensive.

One of our favorite products is witch hazel. Witch hazel is a flowering plant and also an astringent, which is derived from the leaves and bark of the witch hazel plant. Witch hazel has many uses in beauty and personal care, and is an often overlooked option over pricier beauty products.

Our two favorite witch hazel products are:

Humphrey’s Homeopathic Remedies Lilac Witch Hazel, which contains aloe, arnica, calendula white tea, red tea, black tea, green tea, cucumber, papaya, awaphui and pineapple. All which contain components to soothe and regenerate tired skin.

Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner with Aloe Vera is a blend of rose-petal water, vitamin E, aloe vera and grapefruit seed extract.

Here are our favorite uses for witch hazel:

Minimizing under-eye bags: ever hear that hemorrhoid cream reduces bags under the eyes? It’s because the main ingredient is witch hazel. Put some witch hazel on a cotton pad and press on your under-eye area for about 30 seconds.

Stop blemishes in their tracks: press them on trouble areas to take advantage of witch hazel’s anti-inflammatory properties.

Relieve razor burn: again, take advantage of those anti-inflammatory properties to soothe irritated razor burn.

Toner: witch hazel makes an excellent, and inexpensive, facial toner. Use in between cleansing and moisturizing.

Want a full witch hazel treatment? Pair them with these Facial Paper Compress Masks to turn your witch hazel into a spa-worthy treatment that will leave your skin looking calm and refreshed.
