Eva Naturals Vitamin C+ Serum- Is It Worth It?

A few months ago one of our team members was browsing Amazon for a new vitamin C serum and Eva Naturals’ C+ serum caught her eye. The design of the label is pretty and elegant, and Eva Naturals is a vegetarian and cruelty-free brand. This product is vegan. The price didn’t hurt, especially compared to other vitamin C serums, and the claim of both vitamin C and skin clearing hooked us. Now that we’ve tried it out, we want to tell you what we think!

Ingredient list

Some of us here struggle with acne-prone skin, so our skincare routines usually include a few active ingredients. This serum also contains actives, so be careful to check the ingredients in the rest of your routine before applying this one to avoid negative interactions. Eva’s contains vitamin C and niacinamide, a powerhouse duo for brightening skin, along with salicylic acid (a known blemish-fighter), hyaluronic acid (great for hydrating skin) and retinol (also helps with breakouts). It also contains several other herbs for soothing skin. This is a bold list of ingredients to throw together, but this serum is gentle, and we had no problems with dryness or irritation after introducing it.

Appearance and cost

This product is easy to apply and comes in an eyedropper bottle. It should be used after cleansing and toning your face, and we’ve found that about five drops is enough to cover your face. The texture is light, but it does become a little stickier, and clump on the sides of the bottle after a few weeks of use. The first bottle lasted about two months, and each container is $14.95 off of Amazon. Their website says that their serums are made in small batches, so there was a waiting period of about a week the second time we ordered.

Effects on the skin

We noticed a difference soon after our tester began using this product. Her existing breakouts got smaller, some of them disappearing completely, and her scarring looks lighter. She also didn’t get any dry spots, or a bad texture that makes it difficult to apply makeup smoothly like we’ve experienced with other serums. This one appears to absorb well into the skin. It also smells great, due to the tea tree oil. Her skin looks brighter after adding this to her skincare regime.

Overall, we love this product. It’s inexpensive and it does seem to make a difference. The one thing that bothers us is that although Eva Naturals is cruelty free, they use honey and bee propolis extract, a resin-like material produced by bees, in some of their products. This isn’t a completely vegan brand, but several of their serums are vegan, and all of their products are vegetarian. We will continue to use this serum, but if you’re buying other products from Eva Naturals, be sure to check the ingredient list before you buy!

That’s pretty much our only complaint. The serum works great, and does what it says it does at a very fair price, and with free shipping if you have Prime. If you are looking to buy only from vegan brands, this isn’t the serum for you, but we would recommend it to anyone else, especially those who struggle with blemishes or want to add vitamin C to their skincare shelf.
