We enjoy staying at hotels, but are often underwhelmed by the various toiletry selections. However, on a recent excursion to a Red Lion Inn in Portland, Oregon, we were delighted to discover an assortment of vegan body care products inside our room. These offerings were made available by Cascadia Soapery, a vegan body care line based in the Pacific Northwest’s Cascade mountain region. We’ve tried all of their products, and love them.

Check out their website at www.cascadiasoapery.com. You can’t order directly from the site, but if you Google the company, you’ll find an assortment of outlets that offer their products in bundles. For example, Ebay recently advertised 16 bottles of their Mint and Body Wash for $26.97. Though the containers are small (think hotel-sized), they are fully recyclable. Billed by the company as an “uplifting formula infused with soothing aloe”, this cleansing elixir feels great on the body. The mint imparts a slight tingle, and the aloe gives moisture to your hard-working skin. These would be awesome in your guest room, as well as for when you travel!

We love Cascadia Soapery’s Hemp and Lemon Conditioner, advertised by Walmart at the low price of $13.97 for eight bottles. Hemp is packed full of vitamins to revitalize your hair. The addition of lemon creates a light, pleasing scent. We couldn’t be happier with this creamy concoction! You won’t have any trouble pulling a brush through your hair after using it, even if you have thick tresses.

The Lavender and Tea Charcoal Bath Soap is one of our favorite Cascadia Soapery products. This product is a bit tricky to locate, but Ebay recently listed four bars for $22.00. They are dark-hued, due to the addition of charcoal, but great for exfoliating tired skin. Lavender adds a relaxing scent to this powerful soap. The compact bars fit easily into your purse or cosmetics bag.

Here’s what one satisfied customer shared on Cascadia Soapery’s website: “I recently stayed at a hotel and saw that they had provided Cascadia Soapery products for their hotel guests. These products are amazing. They are spa quality, with natural ingredients. Their fragrance is awesome and it only takes a minimal amount to get a maximum effect with their soaps, shampoos, conditioners and body washes. I love their products so much that I would stay at the same hotel in order to have access to these products. They are truly amazing!” You can’t beat a testimonial like that!

We hope that the company makes their products available online directly through their website, sometime soon. Meanwhile, you can locate their offerings with a bit of Googling. Or, if you take a vacation to Portland, Oregon and stay at a Red Lion, they’ll be waiting for you inside your room. Happy hunting!
