Owned by former fashion industry veteran Tam Tran, Anise Cosmetics is a provider of professional nail products and cosmetics that are 100% free of toxic chemicals.  In 2004, Nail-Aid, a division of Anise Cosmetics, became the world’s first treatment brand to be 100% free of toxic chemicals.  The brand is a proud sponsor of “The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics,” and it bears the “Cruelty Free” symbol – meaning, the company is strictly opposed to animal testing, and uses only ingredients that are 100% safe and respectful of the environment.  The company’s goal is to “always leave the smallest footprint on the environment and set an example for other nail care companies to follow.”

In addition to creating more than 600 non-toxic chemical-free and cruelty free colors, Anise Cosmetics promotes women’s health and women’s rights. Anise Cosmetics LLC:

*has partnered with the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics and the Breast Cancer Fund to help curb the manufacture and distribution of unsafe cosmetics.

*publicly opposes the testing of any of its products or ingredients on animals.

*is committed to support a 100% vegetarian ingredients policy.  To insure that practices meet the highest standards, Anise requires the strictest compliance by all of its ingredient suppliers.

*has been certified by both PETA and the Leaping Bunny Organization.  We comply with the Humane Cosmetics Standard in the United Kingdom.  Each Nail-Aid division’s product packages are labeled No Animal Testing and No Animal By-Products.

*believes in the empowerment of women and the nurturing of their leadership and entrepreneurial skills.  Anise supports the Green Belt Movement International (“GBMI”) and its founder, the 2004 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Dr. Wangari Maathai.  The movement started in Kenya with the simple step of digging a hole and planting a tree… the planting of hope.

*is committed to the environment and the supporting of sustainable development.  To counteract the global warming impact of carbon dioxide emissions and to prevent air pollution, Anise and its divisions are carbon neutral.  Anise purchases renewable wind energy credits from Green Mountain Energy Company (greenmountain.com) and has partnered with American Forests (americanforests.org) through their Global ReLeaf Tree Planting program.

*is the only nail care company that has taken this proactive commitment to immediately reduce our impact on the environment.

*uses reusable and recyclable packaging materials and the most environmentally friendly packaging systems available to reduce waste.

*never have or will use non-biodegradable plastic packaging for our products.  Anise only uses 100% recyclable and environmentally responsible cardboard packaging.

Nail-Aid products are produced in a U.S. laboratory without chemicals such as formaldehyde, toluene and dibutyl phthalate.  These chemicals are used by major nail care brands even though they cause yellowing, dryness and brittleness in nails.  These toxic chemicals are also harmful to women’s health, and they have been banned in Europe.

Anise Cosmetics features four collections per year, selling unique nail colors and treatments to salons and retailers.  According to Anise, the brand offers “stylish colors to women who love beautiful nails, latest fashion trends and healthy lifestyles”.  Nail-Aid treatments include:  Grow Tougher, Natural Growth Therapy, Brush On Wrap Thickener and Hardener, Peeling Nail Intense Repair Gel, Nail Recovery (after artificial removal of nails), Clear Liquid Bandage Broken Nail Repair, Yellow No More, Cuticle Cure Anti-Microbial Formula and Fast Dry Top Coat Anti-Chip Formula.

Anise colors run the gamut from spring/summer collection colors such as Fresh Face (pink family), Spring Me Flowers (pink family), Thanks Heavens (blue family), Orange You Hot, and Limoncello (yellow/gold family) to dark fall/winter collection shades such as A Plum Job, Motorcycle Angel (brown family), Purple People and Handful of Metal.

Nail-Aid products can be purchased online through the official Anise Cosmetics website, at nail salons around the world and beauty supply retailers.
