1121 Apothecary is a vegan and cruelty-free skincare brand that wants people to “smell good,” “do good,” and “feel good.” It’s a company that offers hand-crafted, all-natural soaps, lip products, masks, hair products, and more that do smell great and make a person feel good inside and out.
The Company
The story of 1121 Apothecary began years ago, in founder Amy’s apartment kitchen where she made cute scented soaps from a kit that her Aunt Gail gave her. Amy loved creating her own bath goodies, but she was disappointed to find out that the ingredient the kit told her to buy were filled with tons of synthetic chemicals and with animal products.
Amy began extensively researching bath product formulation, and she realized that the use of these nasty ingredients was more the norm than an exception. She wanted to see choices of vegan, natural, and earth-friendly soaps and bath products in the mainstream, and she wanted them to be pleasurable to use. So, during the next eight years, Amy did more research and perfected a formula for cruelty-free products that would be good for the user, the planet, and animals.
