Our Mascots

Blanca & Blanquita

Blanca was rescued along with 16 other goats when the county seized the survivors of an abused and neglected herd. When the county stepped in, the 17 survivors were surrounded by many more goats who had already died.

Jack

Blanca was pregnant with Blanquita when we adopted her. Unfortunately, Blanquita passed away when she was two years old. Now Blanca has another rescued goat for a companion - Jack. Jack was rescued because the people who ran the farm where Jack was born did not want him to end up as somebody's dinner, a fate that often befalls unwanted male goats.

During the coldest days in Colorado, the goats wear coats.

Laura Geller Makeup

Summary:    In addition to creating cruelty-free cosmetics that are safe for use by vegans and vegetarians, Laura Geller is involved with Joan's Legacy, Uniting Against Lung Cancer.

According to the Laura Geller Makeup website, Ms. Geller pioneered the “baked” method used to create “rich textures and vibrancy.”  The technique utilizes terracotta pans and liquid color.  The colors are “swirled together and baked for 24 hours.”  As a result, no two colors are ever the same, but all colors feature superior blendability and breathable color, making the products safe for sensitive skin.

Featured on CBS, NBC, AMC and HBO, Laura Geller’s work and colors can also be seen on QVC.  In fact, the cosmetics line is now the second best selling line on QVC.  The company has a 10-year history (and counting), and more than 140 Laura Geller products are sold on QVC and more than 200 at QVC.com.  Laura Geller products are also making a splash at select Macy’s.

Laura Geller Makeup is cruelty free, and products are vegan and vegetarian friendly.  LG products contain ingredients such as jojoba seed oil, vitamin E, mineral oil, kaolin, paraffin, shea butter, aloe vera, Brazilian sugar cane, peppermint, organic cane sugar, castor oil and spearmint.  All Laura Geller products are paraben free.

In addition to creating cruelty-free cosmetics that are safe for use by vegans and vegetarians, Laura Geller is involved with Joan’s Legacy, Uniting Against Lung Cancer.  According to the official Laura Geller website, “Laura Geller Makeup was the first corporation to make lung cancer research its primary corporate philanthropy.  From October 2007 to December 2009, Laura Geller has donated over $400,000 to Uniting Against Lung Cancer through the sale of her Brow Marker. www.joanslegacy.org”

In addition, since 2009, Laura Geller Makeup has donated $1 form the sale of each i-Care Eyeliner Duo to support CEW’s Cancer and Careers organization.  “Cancer and Careers is dedicated to changing the face of cancer in the workplace by providing resources and support for employees with cancer and their employers, healthcare providers, coworkers and caregivers. www.cancerandcareers.org”
