About Iman

Iman began her modeling career in 1975.  In 1976, she landed her first modeling assignment — for Vogue.  She modeled for 14 years for fashion designers such as Versace, Calvin Klein, Donna Karan and Yves St. Laurent.

Iman is involved with charities such as The Children’s Defense Fund, Action Against Hunger and For All Kids Foundation.  Since 2006, she has been the Global Ambassador for KEEP A CHILD ALIVE.  The charity donates one dollar a day to help purchase lifesaving ARV drugs for African children and families.  These drugs have helped control AIDS deaths in the west.  Iman is also author of several books including The Beauty of Color and I Am Iman, and she produced the second season of Project Runway Canada.
